Research Area: Environmental risk substance toxicity evaluation, environmental functional materials, microalgae water treatment technology, pollution ecology restoration technology, biomass resource & energy utilization technology, and algae bloom control technology.

Research Experience:
Hong Yu, female, associate professor and Ph.D. supervisor, received engineering bachelor degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2003. In the same year, I was sent to the Department of Biology in Tsinghua University to study neurobiology; I was transferred to Department of Environment Science and Engineering in Tsinghua University in 2005 and obtained engineering master & Ph.D. degree in 2008. From July 2008, I began teaching and research work at the College of Environmental Science and Engineering in Beijing Forestry University. In 2011 and 2016, I was promoted to associate professor and Ph.D. supervisor, respectively. From 2011 to 2012, I was a visiting scholar with the project of young backbone teachers of the Ministry of Education to conduct academic research at the School of Environment in Tsinghua University. From 2015 to 2016, I was a visiting scholar with the National Scholarship Council project of young backbone teacher to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for academic research.
I has presided 1 National Natural Science Foundation Project, 1 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, 1 Beijing Science and Technology Nova Program, 1 Beijing S & T Nova Crossing Project, 2 National Key Laboratory Open Fund Projects,1 Henan Science and Technology Project, 1 Central University Research fund for Beijing Forestry University Free Exploration on Science and Technology, 2 Beijing Forestry University Outstanding Young Teacher Science and Technology Support Program, 1 Beijing Forestry University New Faculty Research and Development Fund, etc.; as the main participant in 1 National Water Special Project, 2 Science and Technology Innovation Project of Beijing Forestry University, 1 Major International Cooperation Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and Japan Science and Technology Agency, 2 projects of National Science and Technology Support Program, 2 Environmental Protection and Public Welfare Industry Special Funds, etc.
I have published more than 80 academic papers so far, of which 29 SCI papers, 11 EI papers, 12 Chinese core-journal papers are included. I have given more than 40 oral presentations at international and domestic academic conferences. I have obtained 7 nation-level accepted invention patents and other 3 are under public status; As the first deputy chief editor, I compiled the “Atlas of Ecological Restoration Plants of China's Typical Urban Domestic Garbage Sanitary Landfills” and was invited to complete the sixteenth chapter of "Magnetic nanomaterials for water remediation" in the book titled “Magnetic Nanomaterials: Fundamental, Synthesis and Applications”, and participate in the two books including "Recycled Water Reuse Guide" and " Thinking and Practice on the Construction of Characteristic Specialties in Environmental Science”.
